May learners had some great comments and reasonings and some were not sure what to think. This was definitely a great conversation piece where all learners were engaged in the total conversation. Mrs. Runyon also made a connection to a paper she had written in grad school. Next the learners were given the real TOPIC of their assignment: school lunches. Each learner was instructed to write the topic as School Lunches on their OREO graphic organizers. then they each were given ample tine to write a topic sentences along with 3 reasons and examples to support their own opinion sentence.
